One killed, ten injured, including children in Kyarinnseikyi Town armed clash

HURFOM: At approximately 4 am on November 2, 2023, a major armed clash took place between the military junta and the joint revolutionary forces in Kyarinnseikyi Town, Karen State. Local people told HURFOM that a resident was killed and ten people, including children, were injured during the battle.
Also, as many as 15 houses were destroyed by a junta artillery attack.
“The sound of gunfire frightened residents and they ran to the monastery for safety. There was a long fight. The military junta launched an air assault. The artillery shells dropped on houses creating much damage and injuring people,” said a local young man.
Intense armed clashes have been ongoing and the Kyarinnseikyi residents are warning others not to use Three Pagoda Pass – Kyarinnseikyi – Chaung Hna Kwa Road.
