Junta raids houses to arrest owners of unlicensed motorbikes in Kaw Thaung

HURFOM: Since June 1st, 2025, the military junta has been arresting owners of unlicensed vehicles across Burma. According to local reports from Kaw Thaung Township, Tenasserim Division, soldiers, police and members of local militia units, and village/ward administrators are even raiding houses to make arrests of the owners of unlicensed motorbikes.
“Currently, there is a strict arrest program in place on owners of unlicensed motorbikes. They mainly target the latest model motorbikes,” said a Kaw Thaung resident.

On May 29th, 2025, junta forces raided two houses in Aye Yeik Nyein and Lin Min Chan Wards after receiving reports from the ward administrators. The junta forces arrested and seized two latest model motorbikes.
The operation extends into nearby villages and residents are frightened to go to their workplace.
