Two young men arrested for riding unlicensed motorbikes sent to military training

HURFOM: On June 8th, 2025, a joint traffic police team of the military junta arrested two young men while checking for unlicensed vehicles on the Yangon – Mawlamyine Highway Road near Taung Zoon village, Bilin Township, Mon State.
According to a source close to both men, they were forcefully sent to the military training for conscripts.
“The two young men didn’t speak well to the traffic team so they arrested them and sent them to the police station. Their families went to the police station the next day but the authorities said they had already been sent to military training. The families tried to pay a bribe to release their loved ones, but it’s too late,” said the source.

The two young men are 28-year-old Aung Myat Soe, and Thet Nine Win and both of them are from Taung Zoon village, Bilin Township.
Since June 1st, 2025, the military junta has been arresting owners of unlicensed vehicles in Bilin Township.
According to local reports, the military junta has also been arresting local young men under various accusations in Paung, Bilin and Thaton Townships, Mon State and forcefully sending them to military training.
