HURFOM: At about 9 pm on May 1st, 2025, there had been an armed clash between the military junta and the joint revolutionary forces in Nat Kyi Sin village track, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
The junta launched artillery attacks during the battle and one of the artillery shells dropped and exploded in Pha Yar Tone Zu village. The artillery explosion killed a 50-year-old local man, U Hla Myint.
“While we’re running away, he remained in his house. The artillery shell dropped and exploded and he was hit by artillery debris. He died at the spot,” said a local woman from Pha Yar Tone Zu village.

The junta’s artillery attacks also injured a 12-year-old child and destroyed a house in Sein Bone village, Yebyu Township, on April 20th and again destroyed five other houses on April 22nd.
Since the third week of April, there have been intense clashes between the military junta and the joint revolutionary forces in Min Thar and Nat Kyi Sin village tracks, Yebyu Township.
The constant armed clashes have forced residents from Sin Kuu, Min Thar, Lell Gyi, Sin Swell, Sein Bone and nearby villages to flee home and find a safe shelter.
“The junta’s soldiers have blocked the villagers from fleeing from the armed clashes, so some villagers are stuck in the villages,” said a resident.
