April 25, 2025

HURFOM: Since April 20th, 2025, an intense battle has been raging between the military junta and the joint resistance forces in Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division, forcing more than 500 villagers to be forcefully evacuated.

Displaced villagers have been taking shelter at camps in Yaw Pu, Log Tie and Kywel Tha Lin villages.  They are in urgent need of shelter, food and medicine, according to social workers.

No outside donors are visiting or sending support to the camps creating livelihood hardships.

No one comes to support the displaced persons. At the moment, we’ve donated some rice and cooking oil for displaced villagers,” said a social worker.

Many displaced villagers have also been taking shelter in nearby mountains and forests, plantations and relatives’ houses.

We’ve already collected 500 displaced villagers in the camps. There are also displaced villagers in plantations, mountains, and forests, and in their relatives’ houses. So, there are about 800 or 900 displaced villagers in total,” said the social worker.

Junta air assaults and artillery attacks destroyed three houses and injured two residents in Sein Bone village, Yebyu Township.
