Junta’s artillery attack kills woman in Yebyu

HURFOM: On February 20th, 2025, the Kyauk Ka Nyar based 304th artillery regiment indiscriminately launched at least three artillery attacks on Kya Katta Pin Inn village, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
There has been no active armed clash in the nearby area.
One of the artillery shells exploded near a school in Kya Katta Pin Inn village, and the explosion killed a 50-year-old local woman.
Daw Khin Win was hit by artillery debris resulting in life threatening injuries to her face and lower torso.

“The artillery shell dropped and exploded when she was about to have a bath. She was sent to hospital but died on the way. There has been no military advance or armed clash near the village but the junta has been launching artillery attacks for three or four days,” said the villager.
Daw Khin Win’s body was cremated at the village cemetery on February 21st, 2024.
According to data and information collected by HURFOM, the junta’s artillery attacks killed three civilians including a child and injured at least another 13 villagers in January, 2025.
