Pregnant woman shot by Ah Sin militia group dies at hospital

HURFOM: On November 25th, 2024, a local militia group stationed at the entrance of Ah Sin village, Ye Township, Mon State shot at and arrested four young men who were riding two motorbikes. A pregnant woman who was in the area was shot and injured during the shooting.
30-year-old Ma Way Way Hnin was admitted to the Ye General Hospital for further treatment but died on December 1st.
According to villagers, the military junta did not say “sorry” for the death of Ma Way Way Hnin, and the Ah Sin local militia group did not take responsibility for their indiscriminate attack.
The deceased Ma Way Way Hnin leaves a three-year-old boy and a one-year-old baby girl along with her husband.
