Junta’s indiscriminate artillery attack injures plantation worker

HURFOM: On December 2nd, 2024, the military junta launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on Sin Kuu village, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division which injured a plantation worker.
The 403rd and 404th Light Infantry Battalions operating under the 8th military command recklessly launched at least 7 artillery attacks despite no armed clashes having occurred in the nearby area. The artillery shells exploded three furlongs away from Sin Kuu village.
One explosion injured a local man who was working in his plantation.
“There was no armed clash. They’re drunk at night and launched indiscriminate attacks. Their attack injured a villager who was working at his plantation. He sustained an injury to his arm,” said another local.
According to the villagers, previously, the battalions claimed they were conducting exercises such as “artillery shooting training” but launched an indiscriminate artillery attack on the village.
Sin Kuu village is located on the 8th Pyi Duang Zu Highway Road where the military junta has frequently burnt and destroyed houses in the village.
