Junta’s air assaults injure civilian and destroys two houses in Tenasserim

HURFOM: On November 4th, 2024, even though there had been no active armed clash in the area, the military junta dropped two 250-pound bombs on Ban Pyae village, Thane Naw village tract and also dropped four bombs on Koe Inn village, Ta Ku village tract, Tenasserim Division.

The artillery shells hit a house in Koe Inn village and the explosion injured a local man.

They dropped four bombs around the house. The roof was totally destroyed. The man was hit by the artillery debris. We’ve heard that 300-pound bombs were included in the attack,” said a Koe Inn resident.

Moreover, the air assault destroyed two houses in Koe Inn village. The injured villager has been receiving treatment in the village clinic and his injury is not life-threatening.

They attacked Ban Pyae village first. Then, Koe Inn village was attacked. There was no casualty or damage in Ban Pyae village,” said another resident.

A military team with the 306th artillery regiment based in Maw Tone village, using drones has been active in the area.  Villagers are worrying about the possibility of drone attacks.

The junta usually target residential villages with drone attacks,” said a local source.

On October 22nd, the junta used military aircrafts to attack East Lell Thit and Ban Pyae villages in Tenasserim Township injuring three Lell Thit residents.

In 2024, the military junta’s air assaults killed eight civilians and injured another 27 in Tenasserim Division.
