Junta’s air assault injures woman and destroys seven houses in Kaw Ka Rate

HURFOM: On April 23rd, 2024, the military junta launched air assaults on Kan Ne, Kaw Kyike and Kaw Khite villages near Kaw Ka Rate Town, Karen State.  A 48-year-old local woman was injured and the assault destroyed at least seven houses.

It was about 9 am. There were no active armed clashes in the area, but the junta dropped 12 bombs from a fighter jet. A woman from Kaw Khite sustained an injury to her leg. Now, she’s receiving treatment,” said a local source.

The air assault destroyed seven houses and a monastery. Nearly 100 residents have had to flee their homes.

On April 22, 2024, there was an intense battle between the military junta and the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army in Pyar Pin village near Kaw Ka Rate Town and the junta also responded with air assault by drones and military aircraft.
