One killed and four injured in junta’s attack to Dhammasa village

HURFOM: On March 27th and 28th, 2024, the junta’s military, air force and navy launched both air assaults and artillery attacks twice on Dhammasa village, Kyikemayaw Township, Mon State. Approximately 300 houses were burnt down and more than 6,000 residents had to flee.

One man was killed and four other villagers were injured during the attack.

On March 31st, 2024, local emergency and rescue teams found a male dead body in a restroom of a house which was already burnt to ash and located between the 5th and 6th Street in Dhammasa village.

We don’t know the identity of the deceased man. When asking neighbors, they replied no one was missing from their families. No family member of the deceased man has contacted us yet. But we’ve already cremated the body,” said a Dhammasa resident.

The four injured victims have been admitted to the Mawlamyine General Hospital and one of them has already been discharged as he had recovered from his injury.

The military junta continued its attack on nearby areas forcing residents from Dhammasa, Kaw Bane, Kaw Pauk, Ta Ra Nar, Than Ka Long and Pha Yar Gyi villages to flee their homes. The displaced persons are urgently in need of food and humanitarian aid.
