Two killed and four injured in a battle on the Yangon – Mawlamyine Highway

HURFOM: On March 23rd, 2024, a battle took place between the military junta and the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army and the People’s Defense Forces on the Yangon – Mawlamyine Highway Road near Shwe Yaung Pya village, Bilin Township, Mon State.
An artillery shell dropped and exploded near a vehicle and the explosion killed two local men and injured four others, according to the local emergency and rescue team.
“When we arrived, two men were already dead. They were about 30-years old. They died from being hit by artillery debris,” said a social worker who prefers to be anonymous.
The victims were from Ah Lu Lay village and four injured men were admitted to the Bilin General Hospital for treatment.
On March 11th, 2024, the military junta shot and killed two local young men at the Than Da Dar check-point in Bilin Township.
