Junta’s airstrike kills villager and injures five in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: At approximately 9 am on August 9th, 2025, a military junta fighter jet dropped bombs on Pane Nell Gone village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State. The airstrike killed a villager and injured five others.
Locals reported to HURFOM there was no armed confrontation near the village at the time of the airstrike.
The bombing killed 62-year U Kyaw Hein and injured Ko Jin, Ko Phar Gyi, Ko Aung Phyo Way and Ko Aung Soe Moe.

“It was about 9 am. No one had time to run away. One was killed while five others were injured. Now, just a few people are left in the village. Everyone has to flee,” said a Pane Nell Gone villager.
Four houses were destroyed and the airstrike forced hundreds of villagers to flee their homes.
Pane Nell Gone village is under the control of the 1st Brigade of the Thaton District Karen National Union.
On July 10th the junta dropped two bombs on a school that is operated by the KNU in Min Saw village, Bilin Township. A number of school buildings were destroyed in that incident.
