HURFOM: Since April 20th, 2025, the military junta has advanced into Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division and more than 1,000 residents have fled due to heavy armed clashes and air assaults.
Local sources reported to HURFOM, that the junta’s regiment is intimidating displaced men in the Min Thar village tract, Yebyu Township.
“They forced displaced men to join the militia groups. The junta threatened that if the men didn’t join the militia groups, they would burn down the villages and make displaced villagers unable to return home,” said a local source.

HURFOM tried to contact local displaced villagers to corroborate this information; however, the junta has cut off the telecommunication network in the area.
Currently, more than 1,000 residents from Min Thar, Yay Ngan Gyi, Sein Bone, Pha Yar Tone Zu and Sin Swell villages of Min Thar village track have taken shelter in nearby forests and mountains and plantations. They are struggling to survive.

“We ran away from our village over two weeks ago. We’ve eaten everything we brought. We have a problem with food and shelter as time passes. It’s raining and we need shelters,” said a displaced villager.
As of today, displaced villagers told HURFOM that the military junta is targeting the Min Thar village tract, Yebyu Township with indiscriminate artillery attacks and air assaults.
