Junta’s artillery attacks injure local woman and destroy rubber plantation

HURFOM: On January 18th, 2025, the military junta launched artillery attacks on Sein Bone village, Nat Gyi Sin village track, Yephyu Township, Tenasserim Division. The attack injured a local woman and destroyed two rubber plantations.
35-year-old Daw Aye Sein sustained an injury to her leg.
“On that day, the members of the PDF entered the village and had their meal at the village inn. Then, the military junta launched two artillery attacks. The artillery shells exploded at the rubber plantation outside the village. Daw Aye Sein was injured by the attack while she was working in her plantation,” said a local villager.
Currently, Daw Aye Sein has been receiving treatment at the village clinic in Yar Phu village.
The artillery attack also burnt down and destroyed two ten-acre rubber plantations.
On January 15th, 2025, the Mawrawaddy Navy Command launched an artillery attack on Nat Twin and nearby villages. There were no armed clashes in the area and that attack injured a blind woman.
According to data collected by HURFOM, from January to December, 2024, the junta’s artillery attacks killed 74 civilians and injured 168 residents.
