HURFOM: On January 15th, 2025, two armed robbers dressed in military uniform robbed a shop in Ka Lie Ga Ne village, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State.  The village is under the control of the New Mon State Party.  The robbers arrived on motorbike and robbed the shop run by U Tun Oo.

They’re wearing military uniforms. One of them had a short gun. They entered the shop and asked for cash and gold. The shop owner thought they’re kidding so he said he had nothing. Then, they threatened him with a gun and took two mobile phones,” said a local source.

A neighbor reported to HURFOM that the two armed robbers were talking in both Mon and Burmese languages.

The village Administrator reported the robbery to the New Mon State Party (AD – Anti Dictatorship) and the party is conducting an investigation.

If the NMSP-AD can’t handle this case, every villager will be in trouble. Since the robbery the Administrator called all villagers who shared news of the incident on their social media accounts and forced them to delete their posts. It looks like they want to hide the news,” said a local villager.

The New Mon State Party (AD – Anti Dictatorship) is active around Taung Pauk, Ka Lie Ga Ne, Taung D and Win Kabar villages in Kyarinnseikyi Township.
