Four residents disappear after being arrested by regiment in Long Lone

HURFOM: On September 10th, 2024, a junta’s regiment arrested four residents from villages in Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division. The four victims have not yet been released.
The regiment launched military operations in Thar Yar Gone, Thel Pu Taung, Min Yat, Yaw Houng Wa, Pan Da Lell, Inn Sought and Tha Byar villages. The regiment searched houses in Yaw Houng Wa village and arrested a villager entroute to Dawei City by motorbike.
The regiment also arrested a local villager and other two displaced persons.
“The displaced persons arrested in Tha Byar village are from Tha Bot Sake. The regiment also looted all the food from a shop in the village. They left the village and headed to Thar Yar Gone at 5 pm,” said a resident.
The four arrested victims were taken by the regiment and there has been no trace of them as of today. Their family members are worrying that they would be forced to join the military.
On August 28th, 2024, a regiment also launched a military operation in Maung Ma Kan village, Long Lone Township and on September 11th, another regiment arrived at the Long Lone Township Police Station.
