Junta’s artillery attack injures a child and woman in Long Lone

HRUFOM: On August 8th, 2024, the military junta targeted Maung Ma Kan village, Long Lone Township, Dawei District, Tenasserim Division with an artillery attack that injured a 13-year-old child and a 30-year-old woman.
The attack took place after the Maung Ma Kan Police Station was attacked by a drone operated by the People’s Defense Force. The military junta responded with indiscriminate artillery attacks. One of the shells exploded on a residential house.
“The artillery shell exploded near the police station. The woman has an injury to her ear and the child sustained a minor injury,” said a local resident from Maung Ma Kan village.
Both were sent to the Dawei General Hospital with the assistance of a local emergency and rescue team.
The artillery explosion also destroyed a house, a local source reported to HURFOM.
