Three young boys arrested at check-point, not yet released after a week

HURFOM: On October 22, 2023, three young boys all aged approximately 15 years old, were arrested by the military junta at the check-point near Nan Taung village, Pu Law Township, Tenasserim Division, according to the local sources.
Those young boys are from Pa Wut Gone village and they have not yet been released, as of today.
“During the arrest, they were severely beaten and their hands were tied at their back,” said a Pa Wut Gone resident.
The boys were sent to the 285th Pu Law based Light Infantry Battalion and were not allowed to meet with their family members.
“Most victims sent to that battalion are not released,” said the villager.
In October, 2023, a 19-year-old man from Thel Pone village, Pu Law Township was also arrested by the military junta, and his family have not been allowed any contact with him since the arrest.
