Two villagers and a child injured by artillery explosion in Kyikemayaw

HURFOM: At around 10 pm on September 27, 2023, two artillery shells were dropped on to Ka Nar Low village, Kyikemayaw Township, in Mon State and the resulting explosion injured three villagers including a child.
There has been no armed clash around the village and the explosion destroyed two houses and a vehicle.
“Two men suffered minor injuries to their legs. The child is nine and half years old and a Grade-3 student. His injury is severe. The Kyikemayaw Hospital can’t manage his injury and we’ve tried to send him to Mawlamyine General Hospital,” said a Ka Nar Low resident.
This is the first time that artillery shells were dropped and exploded in Ka Nar Low village and villagers have been trembling with fear.
“There is no armed clash around the village. We don’t know which group is responsible for the attack,” said one villager.
