HURFOM: Since August 15th, 2025, there have been constant battles between the junta’s army and the joint forces of the Mon and Karen revolutionary groups in Kaw Hline and Ma Yan Chaung villages, Yar Phu village tract, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
The junta’s indiscriminate artillery attacks forced nearly 900 residents from Kaw Hline, Ma Yan Chaung and 60-Mile villages to flee their homes.
“The battle is really intense this time. There has been a constant shooting of both small and heavy weapons. No one is left in the village. All villagers have fled their home. There have been lots of artillery attacks targeting the village,” said a displaced villager from Ma Yan Chaung village.

The displaced villagers have been taking temporary shelter at the village monastery in Yar Phu village and at relatives’ houses in Ye and Thanbyuzayat Townships.
Schools in Kaw Hline, Ma Yan Chaung and 60-Mile village have been closed since August 10th due to intense battle in the areas, according to displaced villagers.
“The armed conflict breaks out very frequently and there have been indiscriminate artillery attacks so the children dare not go to school. We have had to end their education this year. The revolutionary groups also urged us to flee the village for a while. Now, the entire village has fled,” said one displaced villager.
On July 22nd, an armed clash broke out between the junta’s army and the Mon and Karen joint forces along the “Ma Hwelve Taung” Road near Kaw Hline village. There have been five confrontations between the two sides in August, 2025.
On July 8th, the junta’s indiscriminate artillery attack killed three villagers including a child and severely injured another.
