Junta arrests eight villagers seeking medical treatment in military hospital

HUROFM: On August 4, 2023, the military junta arrested eight villagers from Pa Nyit village, Long Lone Township, Dawei District, Tenasserim Division while seeking medical treatment at the military hospital in Dawei Town.
On August 9, the junta released four detainees but the others are still under arrest.
“U Myint and his son-in-law were taken to the military interrogation center. His wife and daughter were detained in Dawei Police Station. Only four detainees were released,” said a Pa Nyit resident.
The reason for the arrest is still unknown and no one has been allowed to meet with the detainees.
On July 26, 2023, four travelers were arrested nearby Inn Wun Bridge, Long Lone Township but only one of them was released.
