Local PDF accidentally kills villager during attack on military truck

HURFOM: On August 6, 2023, a local People’s Defense Force, known as the Long Lone PDF, chased and attacked a military truck near Inn South village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division.
PDF forces accidentally shot and killed a villager during the attack, according to local sources.
“The Long Lone PDF stopped a military truck carrying food supplies but the truck didn’t stop and the driver tried to run away. The group chased after the truck and shot at it. The truck had a flat tire and stopped near Inn South village. During the attack, Ko Myo Zaw Latt who was sitting in the front a snooker club was shot dead,” said a local source.
Ko Zaw Myo Latt was from Dawei Township, he was traveling to the region to visit a friend.
On August 7, 2023, the Long Lone PDF released a statement offering their condolences to the victim, and took responsibility for their actions.
Following the attack, junta soldiers arrived in two military trucks, and remained to check the travelers for two hours.
