Seven civilians injured by artillery attack in Kaw Ka Rate

HURFOM: On the morning of July 19, 2023, a major armed clash took place between the military junta and the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) across Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State.
The military junta indiscriminately launched an artillery attack on the residence of civilians’.
An artillery shell dropped and exploded in Ward #7, Kaw Ka Rate Town and injured four men and three women.
“The joint forces of the KNLA attacked the 97th Light Infantry Battalion and troops at check-point #3. The armed clash took about an hour,” said a Kaw Ka Rate resident.
Those injured were sent to the Kaw Ka Rate General Hospital with the help of a local rescue team.
