Junta arrests three youth from Taung Zun, accusing them of being PDF members

HURFOM: On July 17, 2023, three young residents from Bilin Township, Mon State were arrested by the junta after being accused of being the members of the People’s Defense Force. (PDF).
A joint team from the junta’s multiple departments conducted a search near an old “Shwe Than Lwin” tollgate at the entrance of Bilin Township resulting in the arrest of three young residents traveling by motorbike.
“Those young people live in Taung Zun village. They all are local residents. The junta claimed they found photos of the PDF on their mobile phones,” said a Taung Zun resident.
The arrested youth are 20-year-old Maung Set Pine Soe and 19-year-old Maung Khant Zin Ko and Ma Khin May Lat. All live in Taung Zun village.
The junta plans to charge the youth under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
