Local man from Bilin township injured from landmine

HURFOM: In the evening of July 5, 2023, a local man from Nat Kyi village, Bilin Township, Mon State stepped on a landmine placed near the Nat Kyi – Bee Lin Road
The victim is 30-year-old Ko Zaw Wan.
“Soon after he left his house, we heard the sound of an explosion. He suffered injuries to his legs, and face. He is in critical condition,” said a local source.
A local rescue team sent him to Bilin Township General Hospital but he was transferred to Thaton District General Hospital as his injuries were severe.
Landmine explosions have frequently occurred in the township dating back to the coup.
At least five villagers have been killed and approximately 15 injured by landmines.
