Four killed and twenty injured in the air assaults in Hnit Ka Yin village

HURFOM: On June 25, 2023, the military junta launched air assaults targeting Hint Ka Yin village, Ye Township, inMon State. The attack killed four villagers and injured at least, according to an on-the-ground report.
About 11:30 am on June 25, the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army and the People’s Defense Forces attacked the Hint Ka Yin Police Station.
In response, the junta launched air assaults to support their troops. The number of injuries and casualties is huge.
“Two military aircraft launched air assaults. Many villagers were injured and killed. We don’t know the exact number. Now all roads were closed. The villagers were unable to run away –they were stuck in the village,” said a local man.
HURFOM is still collecting information regarding the number of persons injured or who have died, as a result of the assault.
“The ground situation in the area is very complicated. We can’t calculate the number of casualties and injuries. Most villagers have taken shelter at the Hnit Ka Yin monastery,” said a field reporter.
The military is currently stationed around the village.
