Junta arrests two villagers and seize properties in Kyaik Hto

HURFOM: On March 22, 2023, junta soldiers accused two villagers living in Sit Taung village, Kyaik Hto Township, Mon State of supporting the People Defense Forces and arrested them.
Then on May 10, 2023, the junta’s troops sealed off and seized the house and the grocery store of Ko Nay Lin Htike and the house and the motorbike spare parts store of Ko Htet Oak Kar Lin, according to a local source.
The detainees were charged under the anti terrorist act 50(J), 50(I) and 52(a) which can include a sentence of life imprisonment.
Since the coup, at least 10 residents of Kyaik Hto Township have been arrested and their properties were sealed off and seized by the junta.
