Another villager injured from landmine explosion

HURFOM: On February 17, 2023, a villager stepped on a landmine nearby Joe Ta Dar stream, Bay Ka Hwelve village, Ye Township, in Mon State and sustained serious injury.
The victim is 50-year-old U Nyunt Way, was on his way back from a plantation, when he stepped on a landmine. He suffered injuries to both feet and one arm according to a villager.
“This is the third time. It happens very often so villagers dare not go to that place. The landmine victim had a serious injury and was transferred from Lamine Hospital to Mawlamyine Hospital,” said a social worker from Maw Ka Nin village.
On January 30 and February 2, there were landmine explosions near the Joe Ta Dar stream. Two villagers were injured in these incidents.
