Indiscriminate artillery attacks kill two and injured two others in Maung Ma Kan

HURFOM: At about 9 am on July 23^rd, 2025, the Maung Ma Kan Regional Police Station, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division, indiscriminately fired small and heavy weapons, and some artillery shells dropped and exploded nearby houses in the village. The explosion killed two villagers and injured two other residents.

The explosion killed 50-year-old U Non Pu died on the spot while two under-ten-year-old children and a local woman sustained injuries.

The seven-year-old child had a serious injury and died later while receiving treatment in the Dawei General Hospital, according to a local source.

“U Non Pu was injured at his neck and legs and died at the spot. A child also died at hospital while receiving treatment. We heard sound of shooting from the police station in that morning but we haven’t been sure if there was an armed clash or not,” said a local source.

The injured child and woman were sent to the Dawei General Hospital with the assistance of a local emergency and rescue team and they have been receiving treatment in the hospital.

According to data collected by HURFOM, from July 8^th to 22^nd, 2025, the junta’s indiscriminate artillery attacks killed seven civilians including children and injured at least eight villagers in Tenasserim Division.
