Junta’s regiment arrests ten villagers; nine escaped and one shot and killed

HURFOM: On June 12^th and 13^th, 2025, a junta regiment advanced into Ka Line Pa Daw village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State and arrested ten villagers. Nine of those arrested managed to escape while one was shot and killed.

The regiment battled on numerous occasions with the local revolutionary armed forces.

“The regiment entered Ka Line Pa Daw village and arrested ten villagers. Then, they battled with the Karen army and seven villagers managed to escape. There was another battle on the next day and another two managed to escape but the remaining person was shot and killed by the regiment,” said one of their relatives who lives in Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State.

Recently the military junta has launched military operations in Ye Ta Gon and Lut Shan villages, Thanbyuzayat Township and had repeated armed clashes with the Mon and Karen armed groups for two consecutive days.

“There are frequent clashes between the junta and the Mon and Karen groups during these days. The junta’s regiment arrested local villagers. We have a bad connection so it’s difficult to know what happened exactly,” said a 60-year-old local man from Kyarinnseikyi.
