More than 17,000 displaced villagers from Kyike Hto need urgent help

HURFOM: On May 25th and 26th, 2025, a junta regiment consisting of more than 500 troops entered Kyike Hto Township, Mon State and Wall Township, Pegu Division and launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on villages. Local residents had to flee immediately and are unable to return to their homes.
More than 17,000 displaced villagers from Kyike Hto Township are in urgent need of food, shelter and medicine.
Displaced villagers have to take shelter in nearby forests and mountains and rubber plantations. They urgently need shelters, mosquito nets and blankets due to rainy season conditions.
Most of the displaced villagers are suffering from skin diseases, malaria and acute diarrhea and are in urgent need of medicine, according to social workers.
