Na Bu Lell villager arrested and killed by local armed group

HURFOM: On May 13th, 2025, 51-year-old U Aye Soe from Na Bu Lell village, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division was arrested and killed by a local armed group.
As the Na Bu Lell monastery needed a motorcar, U Aye Soe bought a car from the junta’s security gate at the Dawei Deep Seaport. In the first week of May, he went to the monastery to donate the car but was arrested by an armed group known as Ko Oak All, from Mu Duu village. They also seized his car.

“They asked him “Don’t you feel guilty about buying a car from the army?” Then they seized the car. He thought he didn’t need to worry about his safety as they already seized the car. He returned to his home. and went to his plantation at 6 pm but didn’t return home the next morning,” said a source who is familiar with his family.
Plantation workers said a group of six gunmen came to arrest him at 8 pm. His wife also said she had not had any contact with him for ten days since his arrest.
However, on May 15th, U Aye Soe’s body was found buried in the village.
“We disinterred the body on May 26th and cremated it,” said the source.
According to a report by the FE5 Tanintharyi, at least nine civilians from the Tenasserim Division were killed in April, 2025.
