Pyin Htein villager arrested by junta a month ago remains missing

HURFOM: On April 11th, 2025, a local man from Pyin Htein village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division was arrested by the military junta in Dawei City.
30-year-old Ko Ye Lin Naung visited his aunt in Dawei and returned at 3 pm. He was arrested by the junta’s troops at the entrance of a road to the “Compound Office” beside the “Mediland” Hospital.
“He visited his aunt in Dawei. The eyewitnesses said he was arrested on his way back at the entrance of the road to the “Compound Office”. The next day, the military made contact with our family by phone and told them they had arrested him. We rushed to the “Compound Office” but we’re too late to meet him. The soldiers said he was transferred somewhere else,” said the victim’s father.
Since then, his family has lost contact with him and does not know his whereabouts.
“I had to go back home without meeting with my son. I haven’t been in contact with him as of today,” said his father.
In April, 2025, the junta arbitrarily arrested 500 residents from Mon, Karen and Tenasserim areas.
