Artillery explosion injures two residents in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: On April 24th, 2025, an armed clash took place near Kha Ywell village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State. The Thane Za Yet-based 310th artillery regiment launched artillery attacks six times to help their troops.
The artillery shells exploded in Kha Ywell village, injuring two villagers.
“The armed clash broke out near the village, and the junta launched artillery attacks. The artillery shells dropped and exploded in a compound of a house and injured two villagers,” said a resident.
34-year-old U Chat Kyi aka Htein Lin Aung and another local man were hit by artillery debris and sustained injuries to their legs.
The junta’s indiscriminate artillery attacks also forced some villagers to flee their homes.
“When armed clashes break out near villages, the junta usually targets the villages with artillery attacks. Most of the artillery shells drop and explode in the village, so the villagers have to run away,” said the resident.
On March 21st, 2025, an artillery explosion in the village monastery of Kha Ywell village killed senior monks and injured two other monks.
