HURFOM: From February 27th to March 1st, 2025, the military junta’s troops burnt down six houses in Kan Hla village, Ye Chaung Pyar region, Ye Township, Mon State. The junta claims that armed revolutionary forces temporarily stayed at those houses.
Junta’s troops stationed themselves in a hidden position near Kyone Long (old) village, Ye Chaung Pyar region and they started torching houses at 7 pm on February 27th.
“The houses in the outskirts of the village had been burnt down. The owners of nearby remaining houses are worrying when their houses will be burnt down,” said a local source.
Junta’s troops have been conducting patrols in Kan Hla village and frequently arrest villagers after accusing them of having connections with revolutionary forces.

“The 583rd and 591st battalions are located between Kan Hla and Kyaung Yaw villages. The army has banned plantation workers who are working near the battalions from going to their workplace,” said one villager.
The military junta has tightened security in Ye Chaung Pyar region and also banned transportation of food.
“Each villager can transport only 15 L of rice, one pack of eggs and 1.6 kg of dried fish. Transportation of meat balls and instant noodles are totally banned. If they find these, they seize them,” said a resident from Ye Chaung Pyar region.
There have been no active armed clashes in Ye Chaung Pyar region at the moment; and, the presence of junta’s troops is preventing nearly 500 villagers from returning to their homes.
