HURFOM: On February 12th, 2025, a group of Rohingyas was approached “Kaw Dut – Thaung Pyin” Beach in Ye Township, Mon State by boat and the military junta had deployed excessive forces to arrest them.
Some of the Rohingyas tried to run back to the sea and the junta’s forces shot and killed at least five Rohingya men, local villagers told HURFOM.
On February 13th, 2025, the local villagers found six dead bodies of Rohingyas at the “Thaung Pyin” Beach.
“There was a music show in the village on that day so villagers don’t hear the sound of gunfire. But next morning, the whole village talked about that Rohingyas’ dead bodies were found at the beach. The junta’s soldier came to the village and buried the bodies nearby the beach,” said a Thaung Pyin resident.

On February 14th, seven foreign strangers arrived Thaung Pyin village by car and the military junta arrested them.
“They arrested the strangers and seized their car. Some villagers said they were arrested because they used unlicensed car or some said they were arrested as they were Rohingyas. Lots of soldiers reached the village on that day,” said a witness.

In January, 2025, at least ten Rohingyas reached the “Kaw Dut” Beach by boat at abut 10 pm and the junta’s navy troops who patrolled in nearby area arrested them.
“Rohingyas want to enter Thailand so they approached Ye Township by boats. The villagers heard the sound of gunfire at that night. The villagers thought the armed conflict broke out and ran to the village monastery. But next morning, they realized the junta’s troops shot and arrested Rohingyas,” said a resident from the Ka Doe Sake Beach, Kaw Dut village, Ye Township.
