Seven residents arrested after attack on military security office in Pu Law

HURFOM: On January 6th, 2025, the joint revolutionary armed forces attacked the military security office in Pu Law, Tenasserim Division. The next day, the military junta arrested seven local residents including two Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) school teachers.
Teachers Daw Than Than Soe, and Daw Nandar Soe, plus a local woman and four local men were arrested by the 285th Light Infantry Battalion.
“The arrested teachers who had joined “CDM – Civil Disobedience Movement”, a long time ago. They aren’t involved in this case. Moreover, the other five villagers are just earning their livelihoods. They too were not involved in the attack. But the junta conducts arrests and do what they want,” said a local source.
The arrested CDM teachers Daw Than Than Soe and Daw Nanda Myo, Daw Ei, who lives in Pulaw town, Hlat Kyawnt Wa Village were released on January 9th, three days after being arrested.
The four men who have not yet been released have not been contacted by their family members, and it is not yet known whether they were arrested because of any issues.
Similarly, on the 77th Independence Day, five men from the Pulaw Kone village, fleeing the war came to Pulaw City and three people from Ward No. 4 were abducted by the military council at night.
According to local residents, since the burning down of the Sa Ya Pha office, the junta troops have been patrolling the city both day and night by car.
