One civilian died due to the battles in Thane Za Yet

HURFOM: On the evening of December 15 th, 2024, around 4 pm, a battle broke out between the military junta forces and the joint resistance forces near War Dat Kwin village, Thane Za Yet town, Kyike Hto Township, Mon state.

During a crossfire between both sides in Zee Pyaung (1) village, a vehicle driver who was approaching the area was hit in the abdomen by shrapnel from a heavy weaponry explosion and died.

“While the crossfire between both sides, a driver unknowingly drove through the area and died suddenly” A resistance from Thane Za Yet stated.

A person who died during the shooting incident was Ko Bone Toe (or) Mg Nyan Oo, a 36-year-old from Zee Pyaung village, Kyike Hto Township, and his two parents who depended on him, are now in extreme distress.

Later, a military junta force based in Thane Za Yet fired more than 10 rounds of heavy weapons near War Dat Kwin village, but no one was injured.

In addition, regarding the death of a local during the shooting incident, there have been no reports or statements issued either by the military junta forces or by the joint resistance force.

Although there were no battles in the vicinity of Thane Za Yet town, the military junta forces have been indiscriminately firing heavy weapons, resulting in civilian injuries and death.
