HURFOM: Since early September, 2024, the military junta has been conduction aircraft patrols in Taung Pauk, Hline Ka Ni, Taung D and Win Ka Bar villages, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State where the New Mon State Party (AD – Anit-military Dictatorship) is active.

The Mon national schools have been operating in the above-mentioned villages so that the students’ parents are worrying if the junta launches air assault to the village schools.

The schoolteachers and students are put on alert when the aircraft is flying over the village. Now, the Mon national schools have exam so it’s impossible to close the schools,” said a local villager.

In the morning of September 30th, 2024, the junta had conducted aircraft patrol on Mi Pyin village, Kyarinnseikyi Township so that the Mon national school in the village had to be closed. The school has re-opened on October 1st.

We’ve also heard the sound of aircraft at night. The junta has been conducting at least ten aircraft patrols a day in Kyarinnseikyi Town,” said a Mon resident.

The frequent aircraft patrol by the junta has created worry among the local villagers who are afraid of possible air assault to residential areas.

Since early September, the aircraft is patrolling in every two days. They’ve conducted more patrols if the weather is good. We’ve usually heard sound of dropping bombs from Taung D village. The elderly persons haven’t slept at home at night,” said a local resident from Mi Pyin village.

Due to the frequent and constant aircraft patrols by the junta, the residents in Mon villages in Kyarinnseikyi Township has been digging bomb shelters and done preparation for fleeing their home.
