Junta’s regiment based in Kyauk Ni Maw burns down other five residential houses

HURFOM: On September 12th, 2024, a junta’s regiment consisting of about 120 troops entered Kyauk Ni Maw village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division by way of two navy ships and stationed themselves in the village.

On September 17th, the regiment burnt down two houses in Nyaung Pyin village and three houses in Out Kyauk Wat, a local source told HURFOM.

At 10 pm yesterday (September 17th), about 60 troops launched a military operation and burnt down two houses in Nyaung Pyin village. At 5 pm, they again burnt down three houses in Out Kyauk Wat village,” said the local source.

The regiment also launched indiscriminate attacks on nearby villages and on September 16th, they dropped bombs by drone to Nyaung Pyin village.

The “Pyu Saw Htee” military base in Kyauk Ni Maw was attacked on September 9th and in response, the junta’s regiment burnt down two residential houses on September 10th.

The regiment launched artillery attacks and dropped bombs by drone to Za Lot, Out Kyauk Wat, Nyaung Pyin, Pyin Gyi and Inn Ni Twin villages and injured a 40-year-old man from Za Lot village.

According to the data collected by HURFOM, on January 8th, 2024, junta forces burnt and destroyed more than 100 houses in Nyaung Pyin and Out Kyauk Wat village, Long Lone Township. The troops also looted gold, cash and valuables of displaced persons and arrested local villagers and are using them as human shields.
