HURFOM: On June 27th, 2024, the Mawrawaddy Navy Command targeted Zar D village, Kan Bauk village track, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim with continuous artillery attack and destroyed five houses.
After the junta’s military base in Zar D and Kan Bauk villages were attacked by the resistance forces, the junta targeted the village with indiscriminate attacks.
“After the clash, the junta bombarded the village with artillery attacks. Most artillery shells exploded in the village. Now, no one is left in the village,” said a Zar D resident.
The Zar D residents had just returned to the village on June 17th after fleeing from a junta’s artillery attack and after just one week, they had to run away again.
“The entire village has been hiding in a nearby forest and mountains and on a plantation,” said a displaced person.
On May 15th, artillery attacks on the same village by the Mawrawaddy Navy Command killed two children and forced more than 7,000 residents to flee their homes.
