Junta’s troops accompanied by “Pyu Saw Htee” group arrest two villagers in Long Lone

HURFOM: On March 31st, 2024, two villagers from Sit Pyell village were arrested by the junta’s troops who were accompanied by a “Pu Saw Htee ” group stationed at Kyauk Ne Maw village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division. 

According to the Kyauk Ne Maw residents, 20-year-old Ko Win Kyaw Thu and 26-year-old Ko Ngae Ngae were arrested at the entrance of the village.

He (Ko Win Kyaw Thu) left home at 9 am and at about noon, we’d heard he had been arrested at Kyauk Ne Maw. So we went to Kyauk Ne Maw and asked the “Pyu Saw Htee ” group but they replied they knew nothing,” said a family member.

Residents said both young men sustained gunshot injuries to their thighs during the arrest, but the family members are unable to confirm the situation.

If they have been beaten and arrested, I want them to be released. I want my son back,” said the mother of Ko Win Kyaw Thu.

According to local sources, both men were taken to a military base in Inn Ne Twin Hill and local villagers saw “Pyu Saw Htee” members riding along on their motorbikes.

“On April 3, U Soe Thein, a fellow of Pyu Saw Htee Leader Chit San Maung visited our home and said two men should accompany him to Kyauk Ne Maw village to discuss the arrest,” said a family member.
