Junta arrests and charges young man in Thanbyuzayat, accusing him of supporting PDF

HURFOM: On March 25th, 2024, the military junta arrested a young man from War Kha Ru village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State after accusing him of providing monetary support to the People’s Defense Force.
20-year-old Khant Min Thu was arrested at his home in the evening.
“The junta has accused him of providing monetary support to the PDF via”Kpay ” and “Wave Money” in October and December in the previous year and arrested him,” said a Thanbyuzayat resident.
Khant Min Thu is being detained at the Thanbyuzayat Township Police Station and was charged under the Anti-Terrorist Act section 50(j).
On February 28th, 2024, the junta also arrested 18-year-old Maung Hlun Moe Zaw aka Nay Toe after accusing him of being a PDF member and contributing to the attack on the Htin Yu Police Station. He has been charged under the Anti-Terrorist Act section 52(a).
