Junta recklessly arrests and kills a Bilin resident

HURFOM: On March 22nd, 2024, the military junta arrested a local man from Shan Zu village, Ah Lu Lay village track, Bilin Township, Mon State and then shot and killed him, according to local sources.

The junta accused 33-year-old Ko Shein Ko Ko of running away while being detained and shot him. He died at the spot.

He came to Tha Pyay Ne to buy cattle. He encountered the junta’s regiment and was shot and killed. The junta said they shot him because he ran away. The junta took 3.6 million MMK which was the money to buy cattle and his motorbike,” said a local source.

The junta abandoned his body beside the road and on March 23rd local villagers cremated his body in accordance with the village tradition.

The soldiers who shot and killed Ko Shein Ko Ko, are from the joint regiment of the 3rd and 8th Light Infantry Battalions that operate under the 33rd Military Command.
