Air assault kills elderly woman, injures four others in Tha Yet Chaung

HURFOM: On March 4rth, 2024, the military junta launched an air assault on Zone Zin Phyar village, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Dawei District, Tenasserim Division, which killed an elderly woman and injured 4 others.
The military ordinance hit a vehicle traveling from Dawei to Myeik and a 60-year-old woman was killed. A 10-year-old child and three other passengers sustained injuries.
“Win Wa Bridge Check-point nearby Zone Zin Phyar village was closed on that day and the car had to be stopped there. Then, the junta’s air assault targeted the vehicle,” said a Zone Zin Phyar villager.
This is the very first time an air assault occurred in Zone Zin Phyar and many residents fled from their homes.
“The aircraft was patrolling again on March 5th,” said a resident.
On March 2nd, 2024, the junta also launched an air assault on Yaung Maw village, Tha Yet Chaung Township forcing many residents to flee from their homes.
