Junta arrests a private school owner in Chaung Zone

HURFOM: On February 8th, 2024, the military junta arrested the owner of the “Ah Di Pa Di” private high school in Rajadirit Street, Eastern Ward, Chaung Zone City, Chaung Zone Township, Mon State.
The junta has accused 44-year-old U Chit Ko Ko of urging civil servants/ government staff to join the Civil Disobedience Movement via his social media account. He was arrested at his school.
“Teacher U Chit Ko Ko is a founder of the “Ah Di Pa Di” private high school. He’s teaching English in the school. He’s also a social worker,” said a local resident.
U Chit Ko Ko has been charged under the Burmese Criminal Act Section 505(A).
In February 4rth, 2024, the junta also arrested a young man from Taung Wine Ward, Mawlamyine after accusing him of joining the People’s Defense Force.
