Military regiment arrests local villagers in Long Lone

HURFOM: On November 2, 2023, a military regiment secretly entered Tha Byar village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division via a jungle route and arrested seven villagers.
The regiment included about 80 troops and they arrested six men and one woman. Then, they released four men.
“There was no gunfire. They moved secretly. The villagers only noticed them when they arrived in the village,” said a local man.
Those arrested were sent to the Long Lone City Police Station on November 3.
Since November 3, the military junta has divided into three regiments and are active in the jungle areas around Min Yat, Pyin Sa Thi Maw, Thar Yar Gone and Thel Pone villages, Long Lone Township.
“They are active outside villages. They’re in civilian clothes. They haven’t entered the villages but we have worries,” said a villager.
