Ye GAD orders removal of houses and buildings for construction of offices

HURFOM: On August 12, 2023, the Ye General Administration Department issued orders to remove houses and buildings along the Ye – Ah Sin Road within one month. The department is planning to construct their new offices in this space.
The authority said houses and buildings near the “railway junction” on Ye – Ah Sin Road have been constructed within the “road area” so that the buildings must be removed, according to a Ye resident.
“The authority said they would construct a district office and planted a sign in front of the buildings to be removed in July, 2023. Removal of the buildings began on August 12,” said the resident.
It is believed the building project is linked to a military junta edict from April 30, 2023, that created 46 new districts across the country. Ye Township was promoted to become Ye District.
