Junta launches military operation in Na Bu Lell: Arrest of ten villagers follows

HURFOM: The junta launched military operations in the Na Bu Lell region near the Dawei Special Economic Zone, located in Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
Within three days, in early August, ten men and women were arrested and they have not yet been released.
“Four Htein Gyi villagers were arrested while they were fishing in a stream. A Muu Duu villager was arrested on the road. Three women from Wat Chaung village were also arrested,” said a local man.
Due to the military invasion, about 3,000 villagers from Wat Chaung, Kha Maung Chaung, A Ka Ne, Muu Duu, Lell Shaung, Htein Gyi, Pa Ra Dut and surrounding villages had to flee from their villages.
“We’ve fled from our village for three days. As soon as we heard the news (of military operation), we ran away,” said a Kha Maung Chaung resident.
